You Are a Living Witness: Share Your Christian Testimony in Five Ways

Lost. Confused. Hopeless.
At some point we felt life weighed us down. We felt crippled by the lack of purpose. We felt distant. We felt the end of the rope. But you are found. Christ came to you and everything changed.

As Christians, each one of us has a spiritual journey to tell. These are wonderful testimonies that have changed our whole life—and even made us as Christ’s lifelong followers. Sure, we can find many accounts in the Bible about disciples who came to Christ and were saved.

But your testimony is much different; it’s more unique and personal.

While God can transform the lives of people, you too can change the lives of others through your testimony of transformed life. Here are five simple ways to write and share your Christian testimony better.

1. Pray before you open up.

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.
– 2 Timothy 1:7

Pray for the Holy Spirit. Pray silently so that He may listen and grant you the gift of wisdom and truth. If you want to share it to a group, gather and pray together in the Lord’s name. This is an opportunity to open up yourself to others, to let them witness the spiritual transformation.

For prayer fuels your soul and your testimony fuels faith forever more.

2. Be honest and humble.
be honest and humbleYour Christian testimony should not speak of lies and pride. It should be enveloped with honesty and humility, where love and faith could grow. Remember that you are a witness of God’s glory, and with that, you should be humble enough to accept Him as your savior.

Never underestimate the problems of others and don’t let them feel that you are far holier than them. Each one of us is battling our own demons, not the same faces and not the same fears.

Understand that you are God’s instrument to save others as He had saved you.

3. Share every detail of your experience.
Tell your listeners and readers some real-life examples like your own detailed experience of struggles and fears. These are specific and relatable events of your life that show your experience. The more your readers can relate, the more they will trust your words and written testimony of faith.

What happened to you three years ago? And in what way did God change you now?

4. Let God’s words guide you.
In sharing your testimony, use the Bible effectively; don’t use it too much. Some people don’t understand Church words.

Speak and write using simple and clear words. Be current, specific, and always stick to the point. As Jesus tells Christian values through parables, you too should make your listeners feel something closer and familiar.

5. It’s always about Christ.
No matter where your written testimony of faith goes, always remember that you’re doing it for Him. It maybe all be about your path to spiritual faithfulness but always end your words with God’s name.

Since it’s always about Christ, you too should be Christ-like and follow His path. Practice your faith and your listeners will willingly follow the Holy Savior.
